the patient was a 26 year old convicted murderer. (i was wondering why there was a cop in the O.R.) the guy was even handcuffed to the operating table! he had a brain tumor in his temporal. therefore, they basically just cut open his head, dug in, burned it off, and stitched it back up. it was beyond rad! i saw inside the mind of a killer! :)
during the surgery, they set up a tv so we could watch it better while the surgeon cut thru. now, this was not grey's anatomy 40 inch plasma HD. rather an actual tv from the early 90s (maybe). gotta love south america. we sat watching joking about how we wished we had some popcorn.
the surgeon that was operating is apparently the top neurosurgeon in argentina. and it showed. he was beyond precise.
all around. great day.
i didn't get pictures of this one. (i know). but hopefully i'll get to watch some more brain surgeries. and for sure snap some shots!
by the way. thanks for reading!
